Selangor, 19 September 2017 – Supernewsroom, Asia’s first digital media relations platform signed a partnership agreement on 12 September with the ASEAN Rice Bowl Startup Awards 2017 (Rice Bowl) – a signature programme under the New Entrepreneurs Foundation (myNEF).

The Rice Bowl celebrates the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship in the Southeast Asian startup ecosystem. The awards reward innovation, excellence, and best practices in startups across the region. Winners will be exposed to investor matching, regional partnerships and gain invaluable global media exposure to kick start their respective entrepreneurial journeys.

“Supernewsroom is proud to be the digital PR partner of the ASEAN Rice Bowl Startup Awards 2017. As a startup ourselves, we understand the need for increased brand awareness of the many groundbreaking products, ideas and services startups have to offer. Hence why we are thrilled to provide Rice Bowl with access to Supernewsoom, media monitoring and press release/content distribution services,” says founder and CEO of Supernewsoom, Manminder Kaur Dhillon.

She adds further, “Supernewsroom will also provide free access to 16 national winners of the Rice Bowl awards. As Asia’s first digital media relations platform, we champion innovation and are huge believers in contributing to the startup ecosystem here in Malaysia, especially in the tech sector. There is an undeniably huge promise for Malaysian disruptors to compete at the world stage and Supernewsroom wants to be part of that success.”

Chairman of Rice Bowl, Lilyana Abdul Latiff summarizes the strategic partnership between Supernewsroom and Rice Bowl as follows: “One of the keys to surviving and making it from a small tech startup to achieve sustainable growth is how to leverage on the right partner/partnerships. Rice Bowl and Supernewsroom’s objectives are aligned – we both want to ignite and support the startup ecosystem by joining forces and leveraging on each other’s’ strengths to do just that.”

Commenting further, she says, “Public relations is integral to the sustainable growth of any startup. Supernewsroom is not only a strong enabler in digital PR, but it is also at the forefront, being the first fully digital PR platform in Asia and together, we will be rallying behind our national startups.”

The collaboration between Supernewsroom and Rice Bowl recognizes the need to assemble the blocks that make up for robust brand campaigning that is greatly needed in the highly competitive startup scene. When brands are constantly vying for public attention, public relations becomes essential in getting organizations noticed. This in turn, generates the revenue they want and deserve, making their organizations viable in the long run.

The ASEAN Rice Bowl Startup Awards 2017 is the official Southeast Asia circuit for the Global Startup Awards. Nominees will first compete at the country level, and will subsequently represent their country to compete at the ASEAN Rice Bowl Startup Awards in Kuala Lumpur in December 2017. The winners will then represent Southeast Asia at the Global Startup Awards finale in China.
