Kuching: Redefining Global Tribes, Sarawak’s latest global branding campaign, is issuing a challenge to Business Event (BE) planners and associations around the world to heighten the impact of their events on their profession and economy, and repurpose the genesis and course of Business Events.
In this mission, Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB) welcomes a carefully selected panel of partners who have the capability to redefine business events and can light the path for associations, business event planners and industry media to venture down unconventional paths.
“Sarawak itself is very unconventional in many ways because it is an unusual mixture of nature, culture, modern development and heritage. This unusual appeal synergises with the vision of Place Borneo which fully understands Sarawak’s extraordinary positioning as a place where business and adventure meet,” commented Amelia Roziman, Chief Operating Officer of SCB.
“Like Sarawak, Place Borneo is also an ideal partner in our quest to redefine business events because within their products they retain their authentic identity which is aligned with all things Borneo,” she said.
Place Borneo, a PCO, offers fully fledged management services for conferences, events, launches, publications, PR & communications, and other business events.
“Diverse cultures in Sarawak allow possibilities for event organisers to venture into different themes which are less-favoured by homogeneous societies, thus creating more options for the unique and outstanding to come into play,” said Mona Abdul Manap, Managing Director of Place Borneo.
“SCB’s Redefining Global Tribes campaign will showcase our distinct conference organising abilities, while RGT’s satellite events We are Global Tribes-Redefined Business Forum and Tribal Warrior Challenge are unusual and fun methods of engaging clients and partners. It proves that business events need not only revolve around ballrooms and breakout classrooms,” she said.
Taking place on 19th August, the We Are Global Tribes-Redefined Business Forum unites 100 decision makers from national and international associations, industry partners, government agencies, and media for a highly charged panel discussion on the correlation between global tribes and successful Business Events in hopes of leaving a legacy for Sarawak in the nation and the region.
The Business Forum is followed by the public event Tribal Warrior Challenge, which stages the celebration of Redefining Global Tribes 3-day familiarization (FAM) trip spearheaded by SCB to elevate the state’s appeal to international Business Events buyers.
Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB) was established in 2006 by the State Government of Sarawak. SCB is a non-profit company whose aim is to bring Sarawak to the forefront as a competitive destination for international meetings. The Bureau is a member of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA). SCB’s mission is to help connect NGOs, corporations and government bodies in their collective quest to make international conventions a success in Sarawak.
