KUALA LUMPUR, 13 FEBRUARY 2018 – The Arshad Ayub Graduate Business School (AAGBS) has launched a new branding initiative focused on clarifying the school’s industry engagement and global outlook, while melding the university’s distinctive identity at a royal gala dinner hosted by Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Arshad Ayub, Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi MARA.

The unveiling was officiated by Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, together with UiTM Chairman Tan Sri Dato’ Academician Ir. Dr. Ahmad Zaidee Laidin, Vice Chancellor Emeritus Professor Dato’ Dr. Hassan Said and AAGBS Dean Prof. Dr. Nor’Azam Mastuki.

The branding initiative incorporates a new visual identity with a refreshed university logo and tagline, Connect. Engage. Advance. By rebranding, AAGBS aims to be placed in a respectable position in the world ranking system, by making outstanding strides in the international front in terms of accreditation, programme, student and staff mobility, as well as research.

“The university is a place that attracts and forges world changers. I urge torch-bearers of tomorrow to be bold and redefine learning as the time has come.  Certain changes can be gradual, and certain others need to be bold and fast in order to remain sustainable in an era of volatility, uncertainty and disruption,” says Tan Sri Arshad Ayub.

“Let’s put our heads together and make the world better. The business school makes for a perfect fertile ground for educated and informed debates to address business problems faced by practitioners.

“AAGBS has embarked on many of these collaborative efforts. So, keep these initiatives going strong and amplify connections with the industry to ignite change, thus giving the university a powerful way to talk about AAGBS to others across the nation and around the globe.”

At the AAGBs Royal Gala Dinner, UiTM received a contribution of RM100,000 from Top Glove. The mock cheque for the contribution was presented by Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai, chairman and founder of Top Glove Group of Companies to UiTM Vice Chancellor, Emeritus Professor Dato’ Dr. Hassan Said.

Other major contributors include Khazanah Nasional, KPJ Healthcare, QSR Brands, Ladang MOCCIS, UMW Toyota, Maybank, Al-Falaq Trust, KAREX, Malayan Flour Mills, Totalgard Global, Panasonic, and UiTM Melaka.  Dinner contributions will be channeled to provide scholarships to deserving students to pursue their education, provide new opportunities to student clubs and societies, as well as help support activities at AAGBS, all with the overriding objective of providing a more holistic and enriching postgraduate experience.

Notable alumnus from ITM Jalan Othman from the Civetech group, and AAGBS, UiTM Alumnus from Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad were also present at the event. Dinner patrons were entertained by evergreen singer Nora Ariffin, jazz performers Sean Ghazi, Ida Mariana, and the Tarakucha Band and silat dance artist Aiman Asmawar.

AAGBS welcomes public support as well as from the university’s 750,000-strong alumni network to support the programmes and activities of the business school, especially in terms of energy and resources.
