Malaysia, 19 March 2021 – Planning ahead for children’s education is rather difficult for many parents especially when it comes to tertiary level education with the assumption that the inflation rate for education is about 5% per annum.
However, a majority of Malaysian parents still prefer to send their children to study in institutions overseas. Data reported in 2019 by the Ministry of Higher Education shows that over 70,000 Malaysian students were studying abroad.
On average, tuition fees and the cost of living in popular study destinations like the UK and Australia can cost up to RM500,000 for a three to four-year undergraduate bachelor course. But, this is not the case for international students who aspire to study in Germany.

“International students do not need to pay tuition fees in public universities in Germany. They only need to cover their cost of living and it is comparable to studying at a branch campus of an international university in Malaysia,” said Jonathan Lau, German Educare Director.
“If students can set aside RM50,000 yearly for living expenses, students have the chance to enjoy good student lifestyle – experience a new culture, meeting people from all over the world, the four seasons and best of all, have the opportunity to explore Europe.
“The real advantage is students get to be a part of a larger and more international community of graduates. German universities work closely with the local businesses, which means students get the opportunity to be involved in real-world projects that are cutting-edge and relevant to the industry,” he added.
Most parents are used to spending a lot of money on their children’s education and would question the quality of tuition-free education. Fortunately, the German Educare team who are German graduates themselves can attest to their experience and quality of education received.
There are experienced teachers at German Educare who will help students to master the German language before their studies in Germany. Another added advantage is that German Educare has teams in both Malaysia and Germany, and can provide on-ground assistance to help students transition to studying, living and working in Germany; and provide parents with the peace of mind that their children are taken care of.
Recent SPM school leavers can explore Methodist College KL’s A-Level with German Pathway and book a one-on-one consultation session with student advisors. In this programme, students will learn the German language along with their other respective A-Level subjects.
