Kuala Lumpur, 30 August 2022 – Fabled tales of Langkawi’s legends like Dayang Bunting and Merong Mahawangsa will spring to life at Dream Forest Langkawi, the island’s latest themed attraction scheduled to open in January 2023.

The themed attraction will provide visitors with an immersive, multi-sensory adventure through Langkawi’s magical rainforest, surrounded by illuminations and projection mapping.

Set within the lush Lubuk Semilang rainforest at the foot of Gunung Raya, the 7.2-acre park offers a nocturnal multi-sensory journey where mystical stories from Langkawi will vividly unfold.

Designed to attract visitors of all ages including families, holidaymakers, corporations, event planners, students and culture buffs, the Dream Forest sojourn will first see visitors walking through a stretch of 1.2 km path where, thanks to the use of state-of-the-art technology, they could experience audio-visual narrations of the love story of Mat Teja and Mambang Sari as well as the tale of Tasik Dayang Bunting (Lake of the Pregnant Maiden).

This is followed by dining treats and F&B before attendees proceed to enjoy the enchanting story of Merong Mahawangsa and the Rise of Langkasuka. Visitors could unwind further with interactive games and a tech-infused wayang kulit performance in this final phase.

While these features appeal to those who love an adventure, they are also specially curated to promote one’s learning experience in arts, culture and heritage including Malaysia’s myths and legends.

Meanwhile, the immersive and interactive digital art experience would be eye-opening for techies. Bringing these stories to life will not only heighten the public’s interest in all things homegrown but will also highlight the biodiversity of Malaysia’s rainforest, its eco-nature and surroundings.

Puan Sri Tiara Jacquelina, Group President and Chief Dream Maker of Enfiniti

It comes as no surprise that this unique leisure-themed experience is the brainchild of Puan Sri Tiara Jacquelina, Group President and Chief Dream Maker of Enfiniti group of companies.

Tiara, who led the concept, idea, artistic elements and direction for the project with inputs from experts in the arts and creative tech industry in working the alchemy between innovation in technology and arts and culture, has been at the helm of many artistic endeavours.

One of the most progressive personalities in the Malaysian arts and entertainment industry, Tiara has produced a number of award-winning films and musicals that constantly set new benchmarks, most notably the film, Puteri Gunung Ledang, Malaysia’s first entry into the Academy Awards.

Indeed, in line with her company’s tagline “Enfiniti Makes Magic”, Tiara and her team have relentlessly worked towards conceptualising and producing immersive experiences in different mediums. “This is what my team at Enfiniti and I have been doing for the last 20 years – telling stories. This time, it is through a high-tech experience, with nature as our stage,” she says.

Dream Forest Langkawi is testimony of her ability to infuse her artistic inclinations with her business acumen while also fulfilling other objectives in more ways than one. Being a novel product, it supports local tourism and does its bit in boosting local economy through the employment provided at its theme park, restaurants and shopping outlets.

“I believe the travel and tourism industry will bounce back as strong as ever,” says Tiara. “Dream Forest is my way of showing optimism with regards to the recovery of the industries.

“Despite the challenges we faced in recent times, particularly the preparation time taken with my creative project team, it has all been worth it.

“Thanks to the support from the Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Kedah (PKNK), I am proud to say we have made it possible to curate a unique themed attraction, the only night attraction in Langkawi,” she says, adding that she hopes it will propel the local tourism and the local economy to greater heights.

The park, with its fascinating array of characters and passionate narration, is set to drive Malaysia’s themed attractions to another level with the clever use of technology to narrate Langkawi’s cultural legacy. “These unique multimedia transformations enhance the allure of

outdoor natural sites and engage visitors of all ages, encouraging them to reconnect with nature,” concludes Tiara.
