Kuala Lumpur, 5 September 2022 – EcoFlow, a US-based power generating and storing unicorn, which racked up $220 million in revenues last year is now eyeing Malaysia and Singapore for market expansion.
Established in 2016, the portable power and renewable energy solutions company has already set up flagship stores on popular online-shopping platforms – Shopee in Malaysia and Lazada in both Singapore and Malaysia.
Based on its success rate, especially with gaining investor confidence, the increasing eco-conscious consumerism and the rising costs of fuel, EcoFlow is confident of achieving similar, or better success with its first steps in Asia. The solar powered portable power stations provide reliable power whether for fun activities such as glamping to disaster relief, as witnessed during the Texas winter storms.
The firm’s Delta series is famed for bagging four iF (Industrial Forum) Design Awards in April 2022 and its Delta Pro was named as one of 100 Best Inventions of 2021 by TIME Magazine in the Sustainability category for being one of the inventions “that are making the world better, smarter, and even a bit more fun” as the magazine states.
“We are humbled to see TIME recognise the EcoFlow DELTA Pro as one of the ground-breaking inventions of the year, alongside some truly spectacular global innovations,” said Thomas Chan, R&D Director at EcoFlow.
“By enabling power generation, storage, and usage within one integrated ecosystem, the EcoFlow DELTA Pro paves the way for the world to truly embrace alternative, sustainable power sources,” he adds.
The Delta Pro ecosystem is benchmarked as the most-funded tech project on Kickstarter to date gathering almost US$12 million at the end of a campaign. The high-capacity home battery, and some supporting accessories had earned more than USD1 million in investments in just one hour, going past the US$100,000 goal that was set.
The DELTA Pro, DELTA Max, 400W Solar Panel, and Smart Generator were also the products that bagged the iF Design Awards where the jury honours design achievements across products, communication and service design, user experience and interface as well as packaging, amongst others.
Founded by entrepreneurs Eli Harris, Fan Zheng, Hannah Sieber and Lei Wang, the firm’s objective is to provide a more sustainable alternative to gas-powered systems by creating an entire ecosystem of products to support its high-capacity power station.
Since its establishment, EcoFlow has provided satisfaction to customers in more than 100 markets. Its Delta and River portable power stations have given peace-of-mind to its users.
Primarily designed to provide critical backup power during power outages and to have better control over one’s daily power consumption, the Delta Pro ecosystem empowers its users with the ability to monitor and ultimately lower their utility bills. The system is in line with EcoFlow’s mission to reinvent the way the world accesses energy by creating quiet, lighter, and longer-lasting renewable batteries.
EcoFlow co-founder Harris attributes the healthy partnership with its component makers to how the firm can better invest its resources on research and development, and sales and marketing as well as other elements to realise success.
“Our investors are almost entirely vertically integrated with every component in our supply chain. That gives us access to these top-tier manufacturers that no start-ups could enjoy and helps us get direct access to vendors at large companies.”
EcoFlow also has its River series of products which comprise four portable power stations, all with a 600W output. They range between 2.86kg and 7.6kgs and are touted as an industry-leading portable power.
Both Delta and River series are available in Lazada Malaysia:
