Kuala Lumpur, 30 March — Nehchal Khanna, the Chief Executive Officer / Managing Director of QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd (“QSR Brands”) today announced QSR Brands Kongsi Bersama, a pledge of RM1 million to support underprivileged students, reinforcing its commitment to nurturing future generations across Malaysia.
The pledge was unveiled at the QSR Brands Kongsi Bersama event, witnessed by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia and YB Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications, Malaysia, marking a meaningful milestone in QSR Brands’ ongoing effort to support communities nationwide.
A key highlight of the event was the symbolic presentation to representatives from Sekolah Kebangsaan Tasek Utara, Johor Bahru (Sekolah Rintis Bangsa Johor) and Rumah Baitul Sakinah, Selangor, as the inaugural beneficiaries of Kongsi Bersama with many more communities to come.
Building on QSR Brands’ Sehati campaign and KFC Scholarships, Kongsi Bersama reflects QSR Brands’ belief that progress begins with access to nourishment, opportunity and the support systems that help young Malaysians move forward with confidence.
Through the KFC Scholarship programme, QSR Brands funds tuition fees and accommodation for B40 Malaysians, without bonding, empowering the recipients to pursue their aspirations freely. In parallel, the Sehati campaign, a feed-to-educate initiative, supports 1,400 primary school students across Malaysia with staple meals, helping them stay nourished and focused in school.
With Kongsi Bersama, QSR Brands is extending this commitment further. The pledge focuses on education and welfare, providing children with a stronger foundation and a meaningful chance to improve their lives. Following the inaugural beneficiaries, the initiative aims to expand to many more recipients nationwide, with a focus on equitable distribution across Johor and other states.
“Inspired by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, we have always made it a priority to give back to our society and support nation-building, even during turbulent times because it defines who we are. From enabling underprivileged students to pursue their dreams through our KFC Scholarships, to ensuring 1,400 students do not go hungry through Sehati Feed-to-Educate Campaign, we believe every child deserves a fair chance. With QSR Brands Kongsi Bersama, we are further strengthening our commitment to provide both care and opportunity so that more young Malaysians can build a better future,” said Nehchal Khanna, Chief Executive Officer/ Managing Director of QSR Brands.
At its core, QSR Brands Kongsi Bersama centres on the spirit of sharing—bringing together communities, partners, and customers to uplift those who need it most, while reinforcing QSR Brands’ commitment to creating a positive impact beyond food.
