Kuala Lumpur, 13 February 2019: Malaysia is confirmed as the next destination for the Asian tour of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS) after his much-hyped visit to Pakistan and India. According to sources, the Crown Prince’s visit slated to be on 20 February 2019 will be monumental for Malaysia as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the second largest Middle East trading partner for the country. 60% of Malaysia’s total exports comprises of palm oil and its byproducts, machinery, equipment, and parts, processed food and electrical and electronics. ARAMCO, a Saudi company also signed a USD7b deal in Malaysian oil refinery project in Johor with Petronas. This visit may witness more efforts to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries that have been established since 1960. But more than that, Malaysia can expect to reap Saudi investments from the Saudi Prince’s visit. After Malaysia, MBS will continue his royal visit to Indonesia and China.
