Kuala Lumpur, 1 April 2022 The Food Purveyor (TFP) celebrates the official opening of its new grocery store known as Leisure Grocer at Cheras LeisureMall, a 23,500 square foot supermarket located on the lower ground floor of the mall.

Established by the same team that operates the well-known premium grocery chain, Village Grocer, Leisure Grocer gives a unique opportunity for the Cheras community to select from the freshest available produce, high-quality meats and fish, and an extensive array of local and international grocery products.

The bright, clean and airy store boasts the freshest and best quality of produce from across the country and abroad, guaranteeing extended home shelf-life for consumers. At the meat section, there is a wide range of beef and lamb cuts, including Wagyu burger patties and homemade sausages; while the seafood section has a plentiful choice of local fresh fish and seafood, and an imported range including air-flown Norway salmon.

And another highlight is the chill and frozen section offering an amazing assortment of foods including vegan and vegetarian products, as well as imported ice creams from the US, Australia, Belgium, New Zealand and Japan. But to top it all off, Leisure Grocer offers an exclusive collection of great-value house-brand products from Australia’s Woolworths.

Commenting on the launch of Leisure Grocer, Geoff King, CEO of TFP, said, “We are very excited to welcome our new Cheras community members to Leisure Grocer. This new store is dedicated to Cheras residents who wish to buy quality fresh produce and tasty groceries. Cheras is growing with a diverse community, and we are committed to catering to all needs whilst offering the highest quality and convenience along with sustainability at our core. We look forward to many years ahead serving this vibrant Cheras neighbourhood.”

Leisure Grocer is an eco-friendly grocery store offering re-usable plastic alternatives instead of single-use plastic carrier bags and loose-produce bags. In addition, the store has replaced single-use plastic wraps and packaging with sustainable packaging to reduce plastic waste and added an interesting zero-waste section for dry cooking condiments.

Since its establishment in 2017, TFP has become the leading premium grocery operator in Malaysia. TFP has currently over 30 premium supermarkets throughout the country.

As part of the official opening, Leisure Grocer is offering special deals on selected products, and vouchers worth more than RM50 for new members signing-up to its Bites loyalty programme.

Leisure Grocer opens daily, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. following the prescribed Government Standard Operating Procedures. For more information, please visit https://leisuregrocer.com.my/
