Kuala Lumpur, 14 March 2022 – In conjunction with AXA International Women’s Day 2022, AXA Affin General Insurance Berhad (AXA) is committed to break the bias (the official theme of International Women’s Day 2022) and promote the growth and development of women at workplace.

As an agile, forward-thinking organisation, AXA has taken a proactive role in strengthening gender-balanced talent pipeline at all levels of the organisation over the years. AXA strongly believes that women’s representation is not merely measured by the ratio of men to women, but more so about capacity building at all roles and levels, equal learning and development opportunities, career advancement as well as work-life balance.

To help female employees of various backgrounds, roles and functions to realise their potential, AXA has championed multiple key initiatives such as:

    • Partnering and leveraging on 30% Club Malaysia’s platform to develop its womenleaders, offer networking opportunities and build women ‘board-ready’ members pipeline
    • Launching its own diversity network – WoMen@AXA, focusing on Work, Life, Aspiration & Leadership Pillars
    • Introducing Women Leadership Development Programme in collaboration with LeadWomen to supportfemale employees in advancing their career and personal development through various upskilling courses, active dialogues, coaching and mentoring
    • Strengthening inclusive recruitment practices
    • Deploying progressive HR policies such as nursing room, 4-month maternity leave, 1 month paternityleave and smart working arrangement

Through these initiatives, AXA has made significant progress towards gender parity, while elevating its female employees into resilient leaders and increasing women representation in the management level. To date, AXA has 40% and 57% women participation in the Board and Top Management respectively.

Emmanuel Nivet, Chief Executive Officer of AXA stated that such milestone is testament to AXA’s focus in driving the diversity and inclusion agenda – a culture that places AXA amongst the most inspiring companies to work for.

“It’s important to know that International Women’s Day entails more than just celebrating and giving thanks to women. As we reflect on the progress of our commitments in AXA, we strive to continue empowering our female employees by exploring how we can further support them in driving their progress and ensure that they are given equal opportunities to be in key positions not just within the workplace, but also in every facet of our society,” Emmanuel added.

As part of its continuous effort to foster inclusion in the workplace, AXA has organised multiple activities this International Women’s Day including sharing session by AXA inspiring women and Toastmaster demo. With this, AXA hopes to initiate more conversations and awareness to break down the gender barriers and discrimination that exist in the society today.
