Kuching, 21st of July 2017 – In response to Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg’s vision for a digitalised Sarawak, the state’s latest campaign for Business Events – Redefining Global Tribes, encourages industry members to leverage on digital technologies and solutions in its quest to enhance the business sector.

“Our economy is shifting. We are excited that our Chief Minister is taking the lead to leapfrog from a traditional economy to a digitalised one, and we urge the state’s Business Events sector to embrace this digital transition,” commented Amelia Roziman, Chief Operating Officer of the Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB).

Roziman points out that digital solutions have the power to supercharge Business Events by enabling better engagements with the delegates.

Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak), is a special programme dedicated to all aspects of business events, empowering industry players towards new heights in professionalism and excellence in Sarawak’s business events sector.

“Coupled with Sarawak’s famed hospitality and the direction of our latest campaign, our destination is capable to deliver proactive experiences that are both current and bold without compromising our authenticity,” she added.

SCB will be collaborating with sponsor partner Evenesis Event Management System, an award winning end-to-end cloud-based software to manage the Redefining Global Tribes Familiarization Trip in August 2017.

“We are constantly looking at ways to spark a higher level of engagement between the attendees and the speakers. An example would be Feedy, a live Q&A chatbot innovated by our team to allow interactions between attendees and the speakers via Facebook messenger,” remarked Yusno Yunos, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Evenesis.

“We believe strongly that the business events sector will grow tremendously in the coming years and is waiting to be fully disrupted by technologies and software such as Evenesis,” he concludes.

Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB) was established in 2006 by the State Government of Sarawak. SCB is a non-profit company whose aim is to bring Sarawak to the forefront as a competitive destination for international meetings. The Bureau is a member of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA). SCB’s mission is to help connect NGOs, corporations and government bodies in their collective quest to make international conventions a success in Sarawak.
