Kuala Lumpur, 12 May 2020 – PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), introduced the PETRONAS Sprinta lubricant range on PETRONAS Mesra Official Shop on Shopee, one of Southeast Asia’s and Taiwan’s leading digital marketplace. This marks its e-commerce debut for PETRONAS’ lubricant range.
The launch on Shopee is part of a larger effort by PLI to ramp up sales of its lubricant products through a convenient platform. Malaysians now have the ease of purchasing a range of premium motorcycle lubricants online, enjoy upcoming exclusive deals and have their purchases delivered safely to their destination of choice.
“Online sales continue to grow at a much faster pace compared to retail. Today, there are 16.5 million online shoppers in Malaysia, with an increasing demand for a richer experience and greater convenience. We wanted to capture the growing online customer demand, especially those with limited access to conventional workshops or retail stations to ensure our products are easily accessible nationwide,” said PLI Head of Asia Pacific, Ikhwan Hamzah Azizan.
In addition, PLI in collaboration with Grab Malaysia (Grab), is offering eligible Grab delivery partners exclusive 99 per cent discount vouchers for the purchase of PETRONAS Sprinta lubricants on PETRONAS Mesra Official Shop. The discount vouchers are worth RM70,000 and are limited to 2,000 bottles for purchase between 12 to 25 May. This initiative is in line with PLI’s efforts to help ease the burden of those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic globally. PLI had mobilised its resources and expertise to aid healthcare services in five countries around the world, including Malaysia.
“During the movement control order period, these Grab delivery partners are unsung heroes who braved the streets to fulfill deliveries to Malaysians at home. This is just our small way of showing support and appreciation for their sacrifice and contributions,” said Ikhwan.
The PETRONAS Sprinta lubricant range online includes PETRONAS Sprinta F900, F700, F300, A700 and T500, priced between RM17 to RM64 to cater to 4T, 2T and scooter bike segments. Future plans are currently underway for the introduction of other lubricants, including PETRONAS Syntium automotive engine oil to meet the needs of Malaysian motorists.
