Kuala Lumpur, 28 October 2021 – Pengerang LNG (Two) Sdn Bhd (PLNG2), a 65 per cent subsidiary of PETRONAS Gas Berhad (PGB), is inviting participation in a non-binding Expression of Interest (EOI) for a proposed new LNG storage tank in Pengerang, Johor, Malaysia.
The EOI is aimed at assisting PLNG2 in assessing the feasibility of constructing a third LNG storage tank at its existing onshore LNG Regasification Terminal in Pengerang (RGTP). Subject to the project’s Final Investment Decision, the new storage is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2025.
The proposed new facility will provide potential customers with a competitive advantage as it is strategically located along the global LNG trading routes, coupled with the availability of the existing regasification and reloading facilities. The facility will be an effective solution to support the anticipated increase in LNG demand in Asia, as the world transitions towards a cleaner energy landscape.
PLNG2 owns, operates and maintains the RGTP, which currently features two LNG storage tanks with a total capacity of 400,000m3. In addition, it also provides a wide range of services, including LNG regasification with a capacity of 490 mmscfd as well as reloading, gassing up and cooling down.
To participate in the EOI, interested parties are required to submit their proposals to PLNG2 via [email protected] no later than 30 November 2021 (4.00 pm Kuala Lumpur time).
The details of the non-binding EOI are available on the PGB website at https://www.petronasgas.com
