Kuala Lumpur, 3 September 2020 – Fully owned subsidiary and operational arm of Algae International Berhad (AIB), Josens Projects Sdn Bhd (Josens) has successfully closed its Equity Crowdfunding (ECF) campaign via Ata Plus’ equity crowdfunding platform. In a short campaign period of seven weeks, Josens achieved a final amount of RM939,000 from 20 investors – a whopping 313 percent more than its initial fundraising target.

“This is a shining example of possibilities when start-ups take to an ECF platform to expand their fullest potential as a valued business,” said Kyri Andreou, Co-Founder and Director of Ata Plus. “In contrast to the concerns of a general market currently being challenged by the unfortunate effects of a global pandemic, this spurring achievement enjoyed by Josens only serves to demonstrate the promising strength and growth of Malaysia’s ECF scene. This success is also indicative of Ata Plus’ unique ability to support new businesses with extended reach for quality investors who are beyond their existing communities – further delivering on its mission for greater inclusion. We are really excited for Josens and strongly believe that the brand will only experience continuous breakthroughs from hereon.”

Microalgae – The World’s Ultimate Food Source

Globally recognised as the healthiest and most diverse food source on earth, microalgae is the hero ingredient of the ‘All 45 Essentials,’ which is Josens’ flagship B2C product created in powder form for easy consumption. It contains nine amino acids, 13 types of vitamins, 20 minerals and three forms of essential oils. Josens is also the exclusive global licensee of the ‘All 45 Essentials’ formula, and to AIB’s proprietary technology of growing hundreds of thousands of clean microalgae species in closed modular photobioreactor (PBR) systems – which has been validated by several key research organisations including NASA and the Weizmann Institute of Science.

Josens’ CEO and creator of the ‘All 45 Essentials’ formula, Jag Kaurah shared, “There is currently no product available in the market that caters to all 45 food essentials. The only way for anybody to obtain them at sufficient levels is by consuming nutritionally imbalanced foods, or by over-eating – methods that unfavourably lead to its own fair share of health problems such as obesity, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, depression and even heart disease. To counter all of that in one serving, is the very purpose behind the making of the ‘All 45 Essentials.’ We want to be in the business of revolutionising the food industry with the creation and supply of future superfoods that incorporate remarkably clean microalgae as its main nutritious ingredient. These efforts are all in sync with our vision to ultimately make healthy eating an affordable and accessible option across the world in the coming future.”

The ‘All 45 Essentials’ – A Revolutionary Necessity For A Healthy Body

In light of the world’s recent fight against the effects of Covid-19, the importance of strengthening one’s immune system has also become more evident now more than ever. Due to its capacity and efficacy to build on a healthier wellbeing while boosting natural self-healing through consumption of proportionate nutritional efficiencies, the ‘All 45 Essentials’ is key to prevention of risks against Covid-19 and other past, present or future epidemics – with minimum medical intervention.

The immense benefits of the ‘All 45 Essentials’ coupled with Josens’ unique edge in microalgae production technology invariably makes Josens highly popular amongst other microalgae B2B producers in the market. The fact that the brand utilises AIB’s PBR technology – which not only opens up the vast potential of economically grown microalgae at a large scale that was never before possible, but also awards extensive environmental impact in addressing water shortages and pollution, truly gives Josens unparalleled advantage over other competing microalgae-based food brands.

Jag added, “Not only did the ECF campaign supersede our expectations on fundraising prospects, but it also helped us establish potential B2B projects valued in excess of RM 30 million, as well as connect us to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) who approached us to develop other food products that plan to use the ‘All 45 Essentials’ as a base. Since it does not have any unpleasant smell or taste, it makes it a really appealing choice for potential food partners who are as health-conscious as Josens is. We are confident that the positive response and ongoing demand for the ‘All 45 Essentials’ will eventually affect a healthier change to a very large part of the food chain, and slowly but surely, also to the global wellness economy as a whole.”
