KUALA LUMPUR, July 18, 2017 – With effect from 1 August 2017, Alkhair International Islamic Bank Berhad (AKIIB) today announced the appointment of Mr. Yeow Tiang Hui as its new CEO. Prior to taking up this position, Mr. Yeow pursued an illustrious career that spanned several multinational banks. His portfolios include managing the MNC portfolio at Deutsche Bank and being the Vice President of Citibank/Citicorps’s venture capital outfit and Head of Commercial Banking.
From 1997 to 2005, Mr. Yeow was Malaysian country head of the French banking group Crédit Industriel et Commercial; where he oversaw the bank’s offshore wholesale banking businesses in Malaysia, the Greater China, and the Philippines. Thereafter, Mr. Yeow went on to head the Corporate Bank of Kuwait Finance House in Malaysia.
Yeow Tiang Hui is also an alumni of the National University of Singapore, where he studied International Finance, Banking and Monetary Economics. He obtained further training in banking and finance from the Singapore Institute of Banking and Finance, Deutsche Bank Asia Pacific and Citibank Asia Pacific Banking Institute.
Mr. Yeow Tiang Hui succeeds Dato’ Adissadikin Ali who in 2016, left AKIIB to head RHB Islamic Bank.
