KUALA LUMPUR 5 December 2024 – Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) proudly celebrated its strategic partners at the AKPK Collaborators Awards 2023/2024, an event honouring partnership that empower financial literacy through its core services: financial education, financial advisory, and debt management.

Themed ‘Growing with Purpose’, the ceremony highlighted the indispensable role of stakeholders and strategic partners in ensuring financial wellness for all Malaysians. AKPK’s Chairman, Anuar Mohd Hussain, presented awards to collaborators who have contributed significantly to the Agency’s impactful initiatives.

In his address, AKPK’s Chief Executive Officer, Azaddin Ngah Tasir, underscored the power of collaboration:

“Meaningful partnerships lie at the heart of our success. Together, we are not just helping individuals manage debt; we are giving them tools to dream bigger and live better lives. The ripple effects of our shared efforts strengthen the nation’s social fabric, ensuring financial resilience and prosperity for generations to come.”

AKPK Chief Executive Officer, Azaddin Ngah Tasir, delivered the keynote address at the AKPK Collaborators Awards 2023/2024, recognising the efforts of collaboration partners in empowering financial well-being within the community.

Among the many notable awards, Bank Simpanan Nasional received the prestigious Key Partnership Impact Award for its unwavering dedication to advancing financial literacy in Malaysia. The newly introduced Community Partner Distinction Award recognised Kampung Kuala Wau in Maran, Pahang, for its active participation in AKPK’s impactful CSR initiatives, symbolising resilience and renewal.

For debt management and financial advisory, winners of the Synergistic Collaborators Awards were Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan, Lembaga Zakat Selangor and TEKUN Nasional. Winners of the Outstanding Partner in Debt Resolution & SME Support Award were RHB Bank Berhad and Malayan Banking Berhad while Debt Management Programme Collaborative Achievement Award went to CIMB Bank Berhad, Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Berhad and Public Bank Berhad.

For financial education, winners of the Micro-Entrepreneur Support Excellence Award were Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia, Yayasan Hijrah and Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Berhad. For Distinguished Partnership, winners of the Government & Community Outreach Award were Malaysian Takaful Association, Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam Negeri Sabah and Jabatan Premier Sarawak. FGV Holdings Berhad, HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad and Tenaga Nasional Berhad won the Corporate Workplace & Community Outreach Award, while the Higher Learning Institutions Award went to Jabatan Pendidikan Politeknik dan Kolej Komuniti, Universiti Teknologi MARA, and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. Appreciating the role of AKPK clubs in universities, the AKPK Club Excellence in Financial Literacy Award went to Universiti Sains Malaysia, Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation, and UCSI University.

For research development, Malaysian Economic Association won the Intellectual Excellence Award, Asia School of Business won the International Collaboration Excellence Award, and Institut Penyelidikan Pembangunan Belia Malaysia won the Policy Engagement Excellence Award.

For brand and communications, the Visual & Digital Media Excellence Award went to Astro Awani Network Sdn. Bhd., the Audio & Digital Media Excellence Award went to Pertubuhan Berita Nasional Malaysia (BERNAMA) while the Print Media Excellence Award belonged to Utusan Malaysia. Another award on brand support, the Distinguished Brand Amplifier Award, went to Kementerian Komunikasi.

The awards ceremony captured proud moments of AKPK with its collaborators on and off stage, and AKPK’s key message to all its collaborators of their shared commitment to empower Malaysians at every pivotal stage of their life. As the theme of the event represents AKPK’s new publication series, ‘GROW’, they were also showcased during the event. The GROW series provide comprehensive and easy-to-follow financial guide in tackling financial needs during tertiary education years, working and family years as well as retirement. 

Indeed, the AKPK Collaborators Awards ceremony was a meaningful one to conclude the year for AKPK as it also cemented a renewed commitment to fostering impactful collaborations in 2025 as Azaddin reaffirmed:
