Nilai, 21 March 2025 – AEON strengthens its commitment to the local community with its AEON Mesra Ramadan Bersama Komuniti programme, an initiative designed to foster the spirit of Ramadan, while bringing meaningful connections with the community.
Held at AEON Mall Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, the event was attended by key dignitaries including Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan; Tuan Arul Kumar Jambunathan, Nilai State Assemblyman and State Executive Council Member; Datuk Iskandar Sarudin Chairman of AEON; and Naoya Okada, Managing Director of AEON.
The programme featured a series of community-driven activities, including a gotong-royong activity, where participants came together to prepare traditional Malaysian dishes like dodol and bubur lambuk. The annual bubur lambuk distribution tradition is carried out across all 28 AEON Mall locations nationwide, with a total of 31,000 packs expected to be distributed in phases from 15 to 23 March.

AEON’s management team, volunteers, local community members, representatives from local authorities and NGOs, as well as students from INTI International University, Nilai, took part in this effort.
Additionally, AEON collaborated with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) to host the Bazar Ramadan at several of its malls, which showcased 22 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), offering a variety of Hari Raya essentials, including festive cookies, clothing and accessories, and home decorations. Beyond supporting MSMEs, this initiative plays a crucial role in strengthening the local economy and creating new opportunities for small entrepreneurs to grow alongside AEON.
Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun commended AEON for its role in nurturing the local community through various initiatives, spreading goodwill and enlivening the Ramadan spirit. “This activity reflects AEON’s commitment to upholding the concept of Ihsan, one of the core values championed by the Government,” he said.
A highlight of the Ramadan program was the special initiative to support approximately 100 underprivileged children from the Pertubuhan Anak Yatim & Miskin Semarak, Sekolah Kebangsaan Nilai Impian, and the Sikamat Community in Seremban. They received RM200 each to shop for Aidilfitri essentials, along with RM50 in duit raya.

This initiative is part of AEON’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts through the AEON Malaysia Foundation (MAF), with the goal of ensuring that those in need can celebrate Aidilfitri more meaningfully.
Meanwhile, Datuk Iskandar Sarudin highlighted that organising multiple activities within a single location on the same day showcases a strong sense of togetherness and compassion in celebrating the holy month of Ramadan. “It is also our aspiration to create a positive impact on society, in line with AEON’s values that prioritise the well-being and welfare of its ecosystem,” he added.
