Kuala Lumpur, 29 May 2020 – Vantage Point Consulting Sdn Bhd has partnered with Microsoft to introduce freemium collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) digitise.
Vantage Point is a leading SAP services partner in Malaysia and has implemented more than 100 major projects by over 140 SAP consultants based locally and globally.
Vantage Point chief executive officer Rahim Osman said the Movement Control Order (MCO) had opened the eyes of many organisations to the culture of remote working.
Technology was the key to ensure business continuity in times of isolation, he said.
A drop in revenue, disruption of supply chain and shortage of liquidity are some of the prevalent challenges faced.
“With the introduction of freemium collaboration tools, like Microsoft Teams, SMEs can take the opportunity to test the systems before investing monetarily.
“Finding the right technology to best fit your organisation is not easy, especially when training effectivity depends on employees’ internet connectivity. It is a challenge, but we must go digital or get left behind,” he said in a statement.
Rahim said although the company was in SAP, its clients still rely on human-managed interfaces prior to Covid-19.
“With the pandemic at our doors, everyone is forced to adapt to the new norm quickly. This is why we decided to collaborate with a service provider like Microsoft to assist clients with the digital transition especially on collaboration platforms,” he said.
The way to move forward is to source for the right talents via online platforms such as Glassdoor, Freelancer.com and PSERV360.com, among others.
To encourage digitalisation especially in SAP insourcing, Vantage has developed a platform to connect SAP consultants and clients seamlessly.
“It is an open market, Nokia said no to Android, Yahoo said no to Google. We need to share the resources to ensure continuity in the SAP industry, especially for local SAP consulting firms,” said Rahim.
