5 Things You HAVE TO KNOW About the PETRONAS All About Youth Competition!

1) It’s all about the youth yo!
All About Youth (AAY) is a Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme created to provide a field for the youths of Malaysia to become wholesome individuals and build positive characters to make a difference in their lives and the lives of others. AAY’s main objective is to empower youths and in the areas of social development, community wellbeing and environment.

2) They say fourth time is the charm. The All About Youth (AAY) competition returns for the fourth year.
PETRONAS has started the All About Youth program in 2014 involving 1200 Form 4 students from 60 schools in Terengganu, Sabah and Sarawak. This programme is endorsed by the Ministry of Education in support of the National Education Philosophy.

3) A whopping one thousand Form Four students are in it to win it!
One thousand Form Four students have submitted proposals to address a community issue in their respective area and a grant of RM1000 has been awarded to each school for them to kick-start their projects.

4) More than 70 PETRONAS staffs have volunteered to serve as “buddies”.
Petronas Staffs will be involved in this competition to provide guidance and support to the teams. All teams were given eight weeks to complete their final projects and judging will be based on the project’s creativity, originality, sustainability, impact on community and clarity of presentation.

5) The Grand Finale is in November!
The Grand Finale will be held in Kuala Lumpur in November to celebrate the participants’ efforts and success. The winning school will receive a grand prize worth RM50,000 for the purpose of further enhancing their projects and refurbishment of the school. Each member of the winning team will receive RM1,000 worth of cash and prizes, while team members in the second and third place categories will receive RM800 and RM500 worth of cash and prizes respectively.
