Kuala Lumpur, 11 Aug – CapitaLand has been named Company of the Year for Community Care & Sustainable Impact under the shopping mall category at the Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards 2026. The award recognises CapitaLand’s continued efforts to uplift underserved communities in Malaysia through meaningful social and sustainability initiatives.
The award recognises CapitaLand’s flagship community initiative in Malaysia, #GivingBersama 5.0, which delivered approximately RM200,000 worth of daily necessities and educational supplies to around 2,250 beneficiaries nationwide, including underserved children, orphanage homes and low-income families with support from CapitaLand Hope Foundation, the philanthropic arm of CapitaLand Group. As part of CapitaLand’s global #GivingAsOne campaign, the programme also rallied staff, industry partners and the community to provide healthcare, wellness services and essential support to families in need.
This marks CapitaLand’s fourth consecutive Company of the Year recognition at the Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards, underscoring its long-term commitment to enriching lives and creating lasting social impact.
Selina Ng, Managing Director, Retail, CapitaLand Investment (Malaysia), said: “We are honoured to receive this recognition at the Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards 2026. It reflects CapitaLand’s commitment to supporting the communities we serve and the collective efforts of our employees, tenants, partners and volunteers who have helped bring our community initiatives to life over the years.”
“Through #GivingBersama 5.0 and our collaborations with like-minded organisations, we have expanded our support beyond essential aid to include healthcare, wellness and community empowerment initiatives that improve the quality of life for vulnerable families. These collaborations allow us to make a more meaningful difference and support the well-being of communities across Malaysia.”
CapitaLand has supported community development in Malaysia for more than a decade. Since 2011, with the support of CapitaLand Hope Foundation, the company has contributed over RM2.8 million towards community initiatives, positively impacting more than 18,300 beneficiaries nationwide. In 2025 alone, over 210 employee volunteers contributed close to 1,740 volunteer hours across various community programmes in Malaysia.
In Malaysia, #GivingBersama 5.0 was held from 16 October to 20 November 2025, mobilising CapitaLand employee volunteers to support close to 680 low-income families and 220 underserved children in collaboration with Unit Mutiara Food Bank (Penang) and the Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat Malaysia offices in Kuala Lumpur, Kuantan and Johor.
The 2025 edition also saw CapitaLand broaden the programme’s reach through collaborations with industry partners. For the first time, Big Pharmacy joined as a strategic partner, providing complimentary health check-ups for B40 families to promote health awareness and improve access to basic healthcare. Adventist Hospital Penang offered free health screenings, NSK Grocer contributed daily necessities, and Little Scoop treated families in the Klang Valley to complimentary yoghurt ice cream.
Beneficiaries also participated in CapitaLand’s signature community bazaar experience, held at community halls across the Klang Valley and Kuantan, as well as at Gurney Plaza. The bazaars enabled families to select essential items based on their needs, including a wide range of groceries, fresh produce, healthy snacks and educational supplies.
#GivingBersama 5.0 is part of CapitaLand’s #GivingAsOne campaign which rallies staff, tenants, business partners, and customers across markets to uplift vulnerable communities. In 2025, over 17,000 volunteers across 14 countries contributed more than 100,000 volunteer hours, benefiting over 130,000 individuals globally.
The Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards 2026 recognises organisations that demonstrate leadership in sustainability and corporate social responsibility, while delivering meaningful impact in the communities they serve. This latest recognition reinforces CapitaLand’s commitment to integrating sustainability into its business and creating positive social impact through purposeful community engagement.
